Wayne County Hospital has announced the addition of Dr. Randy J. Metzger, D.P.M. Dr. Metzger will join the medical staff and begin his practice July 15.

A Wayne Community High School graduate, Metzger was awarded his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine in 2010 from Des Moines University–Osteopathic Medical Center College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. He received his bachelor of arts degree in biology in 2006 from Simpson College in Indianola. In June 2013, Metzger completed his Third Year Podiatric Surgical Resident Rearfoot, Reconstruction and Ankle Surgery program at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, Pa.
Metzger has volunteered his time as a summer camp counselor at the Miracle Burn Camp at Camp Foster at Lake Okoboji for several summers, and as a medical staff volunteer at the Steamtown Marathon and worked as an A/V assistant.
Outside of work, Metzger enjoys hunting, fishing, boating, motorcycles, travel and taking road trips and college football.
Dr. Metzger will be associated with the Southern Iowa Orthopedic service and working closely with Dr. Shehada Homedan.
