Last weekend was another successful Sunday matinee. The attendance was good and everyone voted in favor of the 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon shows. Hopefully that will continue and the newness will not wear off.

This week we have ‘A Dog’s Purpose’ and before we go any further, the claims of abuse of the dogs has been proven false. The story was started by TMZ the cable news channel and was completely marked as some of the bad news that seems to be floating around these days.

The film was released Jan. 27 and we are showing it in 2D only. It is 100 minutes long and rated PG and has been called a great family movie. Based on a popular 2010 novel by humorist Bruce Cameron, it stars Dennis Quaid and Peggy Lipton.

A movie for those that like dogs and for those that like family stories, ‘A Dog's Purpose’ shares the soulful and surprising story of one devoted dog who finds the meaning of his own existence through the lives of the families and generations of which he is part. He teaches them how to laugh, love and live together.

Coming next is ‘Patriots Day’ based on the Boston Marathon bombing and then ‘Lego Batman.’

See you at the movies!
