This week's movie, ‘Lion,’ is another one nominated for six academy awards and is considered a biographical drama. It is one hour and 58 minutes long and rated PG-13 for thematic material.

In 1986, Saroo was a five-year-old child livening in India, part of a poor but happy family. On a trip with his brother, Saroo soon finds himself alone and trapped in a moving decommissioned passenger train that takes him to Calcutta, 1,500 miles from home.

Totally lost in an urban environment and too young either to identify himself or his home to the authorities, Saroo struggles to survive as a street child until he is sent to an orphanage. He is adopted, where he grows up in a prosperous home.

He is reminded of his lost family and in his adulthood searches for them without his adoptive family or girlfriend’s knowledge.

Nicole Kidman is his adopted mother in the film and Dev Patel is adult Saroo and Sunny Pawar the young Saroo.
Next is ‘Kong.’

See you at the movies!
