Dwight Merle Davison, 59, of Corydon, Iowa, passed away April 4, 2017, at the Legacy Lodge hospice house in Chariton.
Dwight was born on Aug. 7, 1957, in Corydon to Jack P. and Dorothy R. (Meacham) Davison. He received his early education in the Corydon and Centerville schools. Dwight was a professional musician and performed for many years in Florida and Iowa. He had also trained as a professional chef at Indian Hills Community College and was employed at the Inn of the Six-Toed Cat in Allerton as well as restaurants in Arizona and Iowa. He had one son, Ian Preston Davison of Florida.
Dwight is survived by brother Doug Davison, Centerville and sisters Joyce Christensen, Marshalltown, Amy Delperdang, Keokuk, and Jo Le Milledge, Attica, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, grandparents Lawrence and Opal Davison and Lt. Col. Merle and Elizabeth Meacham and one brother Jeff Davison.
Cremation rites have been accorded by Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. A memorial gathering will be held Sunday, April 23 at 2 p.m. in the Community Room of the Corydon Senior Housing, 511 E. Jackson St., Corydon.
