Bonnie Thomas, 76, of Allerton passed away on March 12, 2018, at her home.
Bonnie Jean was born to Earnest and Ruby (Points) Niday on June 10, 1941 in Allerton, Iowa. She attended Allerton schools and graduated from Allerton High School in 1959. Bonnie enjoyed playing basketball during high school. She was united in marriage to Lloyd Thomas on Sept. 20, 1959, and to this union two daughters were born, Dea and Frankie.
Bonnie was crafty; she did needlepoint, made clothes by hand and was frequently remodeling her home. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved working in her yard and flower garden. Bonnie worked for Citizens Bank for many years. She was a member of the Allerton United Presbyterian Church and Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
Bonnie is survived by her daughters, Dea Thomas (Mike Nelling) and Frankie Horton (Alec); brother, Marlin Niday (Leila); grandchildren, Cerena Stevens, Tony Stevens, Abbie Horton (Stephen Hutchins), Jessie Horton, Ethan Horton and great-grandchildren, Addyson and Emmalynn Stevens.
Her parents; husband, Lloyd; brothers, Babe Niday and Vernon Niday; sisters, Darlene McCarty, Donnie Niday, Doris Rahricht and several other extended family members and many friends, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held March 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Allerton.
Interment immediately followed the service in the Allerton Cemetery.
