King Cole Ellis and Queen Katelynn Shields were crowned Friday evening at Lineville-Clio School’s last Homecoming. Cinzie McElfish and Logan Rogers were Princess and Prince. Other attendants were Kaitlyn Boozell, Amber Richardson, Brittany Graham, Savannah Moreno, Thom Marigondon, James Meek, Mike Wik and Nathen Bomgardner.
Marjorie Shields was recognized during Homeoming as one of the school’s oldest living graduates. Shields, who graduated in 1940 says there were about 20 graduates in her class. She is one of the school’s greatest fans, attending many school activities.
Lineville-Clio graduates pulled their Lineville-Clio or ALC letter jacket from the back of their closets, dusted them off and wore them to Friday’s Homecoming games and festivities.
Lineville-Clio’s 35 high school and junior high students planned the final Lineville-Clio School Homecoming event, culminating in basketball games, coronation and dance on Jan. 29. Many alumni were there, including 20 former Homecoming queens and 19 former kings.
In addition to the coronation of the king and queen between games, royalty from previous Homecomings were introduced.
