MAXINE LACEY GILSON
Maxine Lacey Gilson was born to Allie and Mabel Lacey on April 20, 1921, and left this world in July 14, 2010, at the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 89 years, 2 months and 24 days.
She married Robert Gilson on Feb. 16, 1936. Ten years later they were blessed with a son, Ronnie.
Maxine loved to play bingo, mow and plant flowers. The joy of her life was her three grandchildren: April, Chris and Dusty Gilson. She also had two adorable great-granddaughters, Zada Rain and Destiny Lea.
Preceding Maxine in death were her parents, Allie and Mabel Lacey; brothers Doyle and Victory Lacey; sister, Cloe; sisters-in-law Travia Lacey and Alice Lacey; and brother-in-law Harold McElfish.
Maxine is survived by her husband Robert Gilson of 75 years; son Ronnie, daughter-in-law Melodie; grandchildren: April, Chris and Dusty Gilson; great-granddaughters, Zada and Destiny; sister Ilene McElfish; and brother Eugene Lacey.
Maxine will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 23, 10:30 a.m. from the Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon. Interment will be in the Corydon Cemetery at a later date.
A memorial has been established to the Wayne County Home Health Care.
Randolph Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
