The Falcons were back home after an extended break, and got past Southwest Valley’s slowdown approach to win, 54-28. Valley’s first possession seemed to last several minutes. Wayne’s 3rd leading scorer Trent Moore missed the contest with a sprained ankle.
Dillon Lain led the team with 23 points, 9 rebounds, 6 steals, 4 assists and 1 block.
“We faced an awkward approach against us tonight,” Head Coach Jason Allen said. “I’m glad we faced a team of that nature, first game back—hopefully it will get us rolling again. I’m proud of our boys for adjusting on the fly and for their overall court discipline. It wasn’t a crowd pleasing game, but we got the win and that’s all that matters.”
Tyler Jamieson had 14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal. Levi Overstreet led the team with 4 blocks. He also scored 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
Filling in for Moore, Lorenzo Baker-Martinez had 7 points, 3 assists and 1 rebound. Trent Carpenter had 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal.
