Mildred Lucille Weaver

Mildred Lucille Weaver, daughter of Roy Vernon and Sylvia Bell (Rogers) Shaffer, was born in Mercer County, Mo., on a farm near Ravanna on Oct. 17, 1923, and passed away Jan. 22, 2014, at the Corydon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon, Iowa, with her family by her side, at the age of 90 years.

Mildred attended school in Ravanna, and Nov. 11, 1939, she was united in marriage to Albert Olin Weaver Jr. in Cainsville, Mo. They farmed in the Ravanna area and raised five children, Karen, Linda, Marsha, Jackie, and Greg.

Mildred was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star and served as Mother Advisor for the Rainbow Girls for several years. She is currently a member of O.E.S. in Chillicothe. She was a very devoted and active member of the Princeton United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women’s Circle, as long as her health allowed her. She helped her husband, Junior, on their farm, loved cooking, and did a lot of catering for other families and organizations. She and Junior enjoyed traveling and spent summers in Colorado after they retired, and also made many trips with her children. She and Junior loved their grandchildren and enjoyed having them all together with them and attending their many activities. She enjoyed gardening and always had a beautiful flower garden. She also spent lots of time on craft projects, making rugs, and playing cards and dominoes with her friends.

Mildred is survived by four daughters, Karen Rockhold of Lineville, Linda Cribb of Bettendorf, Marsha Hobbs and son-in-law, Dee of Princeton, Mo., and Jackie Delameter of Kansas City, Mo.; son, Greg Weaver and daughter-in-law Dawn of Clayton, N.C.; 10 grandchildren, Marty Nickell, Stacy Snyder, Chad and Jamie Cribb, Kristin Blunk, Kami and Lucas Delameter, Mitch, Thomas, and Claire Weaver; seven great-grandchildren, Sylvia Nickell, Rayleigh and Rayce Snyder, Paityn and Madisyn Blunk, Tyreque and Jaysha Cribb; brother, Max Shaffer and sister-in-law, Lelia of Princeton; sister, Carol Ann Cox of Chillicothe and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Junior, on Aug. 13, 1994; sons-in-law, Ron Rockhold and J.W. Cribb; brother, James Leroy Shaffer; sister, Mary Lou Fullerton and by a brother-in-law, Gordon Cox.

Funeral services were held Jan. 26 with Pastor Tim Wilson officiating at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton.

Burial was in the Princeton Cemetery.

The family requests memorial contributions to either the Princeton United Methodist Church or to the Hospice Care Initiative in lieu of flowers. Contributions may be mailed to Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Service, P.O. Box 316, Princeton, MO 64673.
