New tornado siren found for Allerton

The June 5 Allerton City Council was called to order and the agenda was approved. The minutes and treasures report were also approved. The unpaid bills were allowed. No visitors were present.
The discussion with city crew covered the Garden Club cleaning up weeds and finding electrical wires in their flowerbeds. There is also a gazebo that needs to either be rebuilt or fixed up.
The council then approved a cigarette license renewal.
The second reading of Ordinance #518, which would fine residents for trash in their yard. The third reading was waived. The motion carried.
The water quality report was then approved.
The council then discussed a trailer near the water plant that had no skirting on it that would need to be fixed.
The Allerton clean up day had 63 stops and two double loads. It cost $1625 overall, with the landfill bill being $526.73. The fire protection agreements were approved.
Bill Byrns of Emergency Management was not present at the meeting, but had reported that he found a tornado siren between $2500-$2800 to replace the broken siren.
The next council meeting was set for July 10 at 5:30 p.m.
