Unofficial results are in for city elections held Nov. 8. In Humeston, Lester LaVern Tueth will take the mayor’s seat at the council table, with 42 votes. A scattering of write-in candidates received 16 votes.
Incumbents David Gunzenhauser and Don Richard will return to the council table, with 51 and 48 votes respectively. Former mayor Russell Wright topped the voting for council member, with 58 votes. Robert Jensen received 48 votes and there was a scattering of seven write-in votes for council.
In Derby, incumbent Vicki Conner returns as mayor with 19 votes. There was a scattering of eight write-in votes.
Derby voters elected five council members, Donald Moots with 26 votes, Norma Rush with 20, Stephanie Bear with 19, Joel Danner with 17 and Miles Latham with 14 votes. Wes Larrington received 10 votes and there was a scattering of 19 write-in votes.
Garden Grove elected three council members to four-year terms, Rick Howe with 17 votes, John Rouze with 16 votes and Randal Smith with 14 votes. There was a scattering of write-in votes.
LeRoy’s election was all by write-in votes, as no one had taken out nomination papers for the election. Incumbents returned to each position. Mayor Emett Joy received four votes. LeRoy’s city council will include Velma Hawkinson and Charla Joy, who each received five votes, and Stephanie Sponsler, with four votes.
LeRoy’s five voters at the polls was not the lowest number of votes cast in area towns. In Millerton, only one of the town's 20 registered voters went to the polls. Jim Fetters received one vote for mayor and Ashley Carpenter received one vote for the open council seat.
