The Corydon and Allerton Chamber of Commerce sponsored event for the Festival of Trees was a huge success this past weekend where area businesses and individuals put their creative minds to work. With 59 full size tree entries this year and 23 tabletop trees, the event is held to raise money for the Empty Stocking Program.

The full size tree entry decorated by Josh and Kristy Knutson of Destination Ag with corn, corn stalks and completed with full Pioneer seed sacks for a tree skirt was voted the overall winner for the $100 in Corydon bucks grand prize. Placing second and receiving $50 in Corydon bucks was the Corydon Times-Republican entry with their "Best Who-liday ever" Grinch tree.

In the kid's tabletop tree division, Ally Petty's “Tale as Old as Time” from the Beauty and the Beast movie took the top honors winning her $100 in Corydon bucks. A farm scenery tree complete with a windmill atop for the tree topper decorated by Tucker Welch placed second and he will be receiving $50 in Corydon bucks.
