After a long two-year wait, Lineville’s Bordertown Day is back for the first area town celebration of the summer. The schedule of events have been released for the upcoming Saturday, June 26 celebration.
Kicking off the day, a biscuits and gravy breakfast will be served from 8:30 until 10 a.m. The car show registration will be held on the north side of the square from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and is sponsored by Snyder Brother’s Farms.
Vendors will be set up beginning at 10 a.m. and will be up until 4 p.m. No food trucks or vendors will be admitted for this day.
The kiddie parade line-up is set for 11:20 a.m. on the north side of the square with the parade set to begin at 11:30 a.m.
This year’s parade theme is “United We Stand” and those entering in the big parade will begin lining up at 11 a.m. on the south end of town. A sign up tent will be set up and the parade is scheduled to begin at noon.
Following the parade, live music entertainment from Dave Watson, sponsored by Randy’s Shortstop, will begin and is scheduled for two hours. Free watermelon on the square will also be served sponsored by Farmer’s Bank of Northern Missouri, Mercer Branch.
At 1 p.m., kiddie and adult games will begin with a bounce house sponsored by Randy’s Shortstop being available all day.
An evening meal of ribeye steak sandwich, cheesy potatoes, green beans and tea will be served from 6 until 8 p.m. The ice cream social will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Live band entertainment from Hired Gun will begin at 7 p.m. and is scheduled to continue until 11 p.m. and is sponsored by Brian’s Farm Supply and the Bordertown Committee.
Once the skies turn dark, a firework display will be held sponsored by Jeff Henley and Hale’s Fireworks. The fireworks show will be weather permitting.
Throughout the day, hourly raffle drawings will be held each hour. The final drawing will follow the fireworks show. Raffle tickets are being sold for one dollar each or six for five dollars.
A concession stand will be available all day with meal specials being offered. Please note all scheduled times are approximate.
