The awards and recognition for the 2019 Lady Falcons softball team members keep coming in! Sophomore catcher Camryn Jacobsen and freshman pitcher Sterling Berndt were recently named to the 2019 Class 1A All-State Team. Both Jacobsen and Berndt along with teammate Emily Jones were selected for the the 2019 Class 1A Southeast All-District team as well. Jacobsen took her starting position behind the plate this season leading the team and the Pride of Iowa Conference in homeruns and put outs for the season. Her 265 put outs also landed her 6th overall in all of Class 1A while her 7 homeruns for the season tied her for 5th overall in Class 1A and ended her sophomore year with a .357 batting average. Berndt closed out her freshman year leading the team with a .528 batting average to lead the Lady Falcons and the Pride of Iowa Conference and putting her 8th in Class 1A. She also finished the season with zero strikeouts after over 100 at bats this season joining only a handful of others across the state in all classes to reach this accomplishment. From the mound she she recorded 238 strikeouts before reaching the state tournament to place her 2nd in Pride of Iowa Conference and 6th overall in Class 1A.
