Benjamin M. Shoup Sr., 87, of Allerton, Iowa, formerly of Peoria Heights, Ill., passed away at the Wayne County Hospital in Corydon on Aug. 10, 2019. Ben was born on Jan. 29, 1932, in rural Secor, Ill., to Ancil and Goldie (Woosley) Shoup. On Feb. 27, 1950, he married Wanda Farner in Eureka, Ill. They raised their three children: Benjamin Jr., Patricia and William on the family farm near Secor. Ben was employed at Caterpillar and later by Conklin Dinner Theater in Goodfield, Ill. Upon retirement in 1997 they purchased a home in Allerton to be more involved in the Iowa farming operation. After the passing of his wife Wanda in 2005 Ben was married to Judy Sherman on May 29, 2008. They made their home in Peoria Heights, Ill.

Ben is survived by his children: Benjamin Jr. Shoup (Barb) of Eureka, Ill., Patricia Bear of Secor, Ill., and William Shoup (Ruth) of Allerton; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law Carroll Pruitt.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents; wife Wanda in 2005; wife Judy in 2015; siblings: Lorene Waters, Robert Shoup and Donna Pruitt; and three great-grandchildren.

Per his wishes Ben was cremated. A private burial will take place at a later date.
