LeRoy Lunsford, 87, Bethany, Mo., passed away April 12, 2019, at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, Mo.

LeRoy was born March 2, 1932, in Newpoint, Mo., the son of Lester and Leta (Muir) Lunsford.

On Jan. 18, 1952, he married Lillian Clark in Joplin, Mo.

LeRoy was the owner of the Allerton Lumber Company in Allerton, Iowa. He was also a minister and had served several churches in the area over the years. He was a member of the Highway Christian Church, Bethany, Mo., and had attended the Ozark Bible College.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Lillian, of the home; seven sons and their spouses: Allan (Dianna) Lunsford, Gallatin, Mo., Galen (Lori) Lunsford, Allerton, Ed Lunsford, Lee’s Summit, Mo., Nathan (Tara) Lunsford, Bellingham, Wash., Warren (Shelda) Lunsford, Sewal, Terry Lunsford, Independence, Mo., and Kent (Sherry) Lunsford, Allerton; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Bethene (Don) Huss, San Diego, Calif., and Nancy (David) Abbott, Melcher.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Darlene Marsh.

Memorial Services were held April 18, at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, Mo. Inurnment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Highway Christian Church and/or Bethany Public Library in care of Roberson Funeral Home P.O. Box 46, Bethany, MO 64424.
