TERRY W. BELLON

A Celebration of Life Service for Terry W. Bellon Sr., 69, of Chariton will be held Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Family will receive friends on Thursday, from 5 until 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Terry’s family to use for a memorial in his name.

Terry Weston Bellon was born Aug.15, 1949, in Corydon, Iowa, to John and Twila Haff Bellon. He grew up in Corydon and went to high school with the class of 1967. He excelled at wrestling in high school.

Terry was married to Dixie Lee Hook and was blessed with two sons: Terry Jr. and Troy. He was a hard worker and had worked at several jobs, including working for his uncle Joe Gillaspy, and had worked several years at Nestaway. Terry enjoyed being with family and had enjoyed fishing and camping in his younger years. He liked to have fun, hang out with friends, and bartended at the Hurribak Club for several years.

Terry passed away Oct. 9, 2018, at Lucas County Health Center in Chariton.

He is survived by his sons: Terry Bellon Jr. and Troy (Jennifer Mendonhall-Bellon) Bellon; grandchildren: Mackenzie Mendenhall, Danielle (Dustin) Chock and Taylor Bellon; great-grandchildren: Ira Moorehead, Mary Chock and Reba Chock; and siblings: Victor (Barb) Bellon, Viola (James) Howie, Albert Bellon and Carmen (GW Wilkins) Bellon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Twila Bellon, and siblings: Shelby Laughlin, Leona Bardwell, Nancy Gillaspy and John Dale Bellon.
