Hunter Clark helps clear path for Jakson Cobb as he pushes towards goal line during Friday night's matchup against Martensdale-St. Marys.

This week our selection of Athlete of the Week is Wayne Falcon football senior Hunter Clark. Clark was a key player during Wayne's impressive 76-6 win over Martensdale-St.Marys Friday evening.

During this pairing, Clark ran in a touchdown as well as two 2-pt conversions to put up 10 points on the scoreboard for the Falcons. Clark also tallied up two solo tackles and eight tackle assists, with two tackles for a loss on the play for Martensdale.

Clark has proved to be a force on both sides of the football offensively and defensively. On offense Clark carries the ball from a fullback position or is always a force when teamed up with Bret Whitehall, Hunter Cobb and Dayton Jacobsen to block and open the path in a Falcon running game.

Currently after eight games this season, Clark leads the Falcons with 39 tackles. He has been a defensive force with 17 solo tackles and 22 tackle assists, with four tackles resulting in a loss of yards.

Clark and the Wayne Falcons are on the road this week as they travel to Leon Friday, Oct. 19 to meet up with the Central Decatur Cardinals. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

This week's Athlete of the Week is sponsored by Ludlow's Steakhouse. Clark will be receiving a gift certificate donated by Ludlow's which may be picked up at the steakhouse during business hours.
